Restoration of the forest after calamities in the Lichnice district - Nasavrky Forest Administration (Forests of the Czech Republic s.p.)

Abstract:

Tématem řešeným v předložené bakalářské práci je zhodnotit stav obnovy lesa po větrných kalamitách ve vybraném zájmovém území Lesní správy Nasavrky, na revíru Lichnice. Stav obnovy lesa se hodnotil na kalamitních plochách vzniklých po orkánu Kyrill 2007, v menší míře i v porostech zasažených vichřicí Emma a Ivan z roku 2008. Šetření byla postavena na analýze dat z lesní hospodářské evidence a terénním šetření. V terénu proběhlo měření výšek u třech druhů dřevin, a to jedle bělokoré, dubu letního a smrku ztepilého. Šetření probíhalo v rozdílných nadmořských výškách na hoře jménem Krkaňka, nacházející se v CHKO Železné hory. Dále byla posuzována celková úspěšnost odrůstání zájmových dřevin. Nezdar byl na experimentálních plochách zjištěn především u výsadeb jedle a smrku. Příčinou byla volba dřeviny neodpovídající stanovišti, lidský faktor, extrémním klimatické podmínky, agresivní buřeň a přemnožená zvěř. Významným limitujícím faktorem úspěšnosti obnovy je též jihozápadní expozice svahu. Dřeviny nejlépe odrůstaly v nejnižší nadmořské výšce v porostu 312 A 00/12, zde byly ponechány stěny mateřských porostů. Nejlépe odrůstal dub letní a nejhůře smrk ztepilý.

Abstract:

The topic addressed in the presented bachelor's thesis was to evaluate the state of forest regeneration after wind calamities in a selected area of interest of the Nasavrky Forest Administration, in the Lichnice district. The state of forest regeneration was assessed on the calamitous areas created after Hurricane Kyrill 2007, and parts of the vegetation of storms Emma and Ivan from 2008 are also affected on these clearing areas. The analysis was performed using forest management records and field investigation. In the field, heights were measured in three species of white fir, summer oak and Norway spruce, all at different altitudes on a mountain called Krkaňka, located in the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area. It was also assessed which tree species grows and where best. Unfortunately, the financial cost could not be solved due to lack of documentation. The aim of this work was to design the restoration of the forest and evaluate the state of restoration. Problems were found in the experimental areas of the Lichnice district, especially in areas with planting of fir and spruce. This was due to an inappropriately chosen habitat, the human factor, the extreme climatic conditions, the aggressive weeds and game overpopulation, and the lack of protection against it. An important limiting factor is also the southwestern slope exposure. The woody plants grew best at the lowest altitude in the stand 312 A 00/12, where the walls of the shelterwood were left. Summer oak grew the best and spruce grew the worst.
