Theatrical elements in the Catholic liturgy

Abstract:

Jádrem bakalářské práce je analýza římsko-katolické mše v její současné podobě tzn. po II. vatikánském koncilu. Důraz je kladen na české prostředí, ve kterém je každodenně celebrována. Jelikož katolický obřad podléhá konkrétním pravidlům, která se zpřítomňují při jeho realizaci, rozhodla jsem se tato pravidla analyzovat z hlediska performativity. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaké divadelní prvky jsou v katolické liturgii uplatňovány (bez ohledu na jejich transcendentní rozměr), a jakým způsobem se mezi ně dá umělecky vstoupit.

Abstract:

The core of the thesis is the analysis of the Roman Catholic Mass in its current form ie. after the II. Vatican Council. Ephasis is placed on the Czech milieu in which it is celebrated every day. Since the Catholic rite is subject to specific rules, which are present in its realization, I decided to analyze these rules in terms of performativity. The aim of this work is to find out what theatrical elements are used in the Catholic liturgy (regardless of their transcendental dimension) and how to enter them artificially.
