Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou první republiky a přípravou její armády na válečný konflikt. V úvodu stručně shrnuje nejdůležitější politické události od konce první světové války, vznik nových nástupnických států po rozpadu Rakouska-Uherska a podmínky pro poražené Německo na základě Versailleské mírové dohody. Poté následuje hlubší popis politického vývoje v Německu, vzniku nacismu jako ohrožení pro udržení míru v Evropě a detailní popis reorganizace a modernizace československé armády, spojené s výstavbou pohraničního opevnění. Ve druhé části práce následuje popis politických událostí týkajících se problémů s německou menšinou a snahy Československa o navázání spojeneckých vztahů. Poslední část práce se zabývá průběhem mobilizace v září roku 1938 a končí Mnichovskou dohodou a demobilizací československé armády.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the problematics of the First Republic and preparation of the army for military conflict. In the introductory chapter are briefly summarized the most important political events since the end of the First World War, the emergence of new successor states after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and conditions for the defeated Germany under the Treaty of Versailles. This is followed by a deeper description of the political developments in Germany, the emergence of Nazism as a threat to peace in Europe and a detailed description of the reorganization and modernization of the Czechoslovak army, coupled with the construction of border fortifications. In the second part of this work follows a description of political events related to problems with the German minority of Czechoslovakia and the efforts to establish alliances. The last part of this thesis deals with the process of mobilization in September 1938 and ends with the Munich Agreement and the demobilization of the Czechoslovak army.
