The economic analysis of occupational injuries and diseases

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá ekonomickou analýzou pracovních úrazů a ne-mocí z povolání, a to z hlediska povinností zaměstnavatele a práva týkajícího se sankcí za přestupky, které jsou blíže definovány českou legislativou. Cílem práce je porozumět vztahu mezi ekonomickými výsledky firem a výší uložených sankcí za nedodržení bezpečnostních a pracovněprávních předpisů. Analýza zahrnuje sledování vývoje hospodaření vybraných firem v porovnání se sankcemi. Hlavním zjištěním je skutečnost, že výsledky hospodaření vybraných firem a sankce za přestupky se nevyvíjí stejným tempem. V závěru práce je doporučeno provést revizi systému sankcí tak, aby lépe odpovídal aktuálním ekonomickým výsledkům a podmínkám firem. Je také navrženo posílení investic do bezpečnostních opatření s cílem snížit riziko pracovních úrazů a nemocí z povolání. Tato opatření by měla být formulována s ohledem na specifika každé firmy a její ekonomickou situaci, aby byla efektivní a spravedlivá.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the economic analysis of occupational accidents and occupational injuries in terms of employer's obligations and the law concerning sanctions for offences, which are defined in more detail by Czech legislation. The aim of the thesis is to understand the relationship between the economic results of companies and the level of sanctions imposed for non-compliance with safety and labour law regulations. The analysis includes monitoring the economic performance of selected companies in comparison with sanctions. The main finding is that the economic performance of the selected companies and the sanctions for violations do not evolve at the same rate. The paper concludes by recommending a revision of the sanctions system to better match the current economic performance and conditions of companies. It is also suggested that investment in safety measures should be strengthened to reduce the risk of occupational accidents and diseases. These measures should be formulated considering the specificities of each company and its economic situation in order to be effective and fair.
