Use of computed tomography in forensic medicine

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá možnostmi využití výpočetní tomografie v soudním lékařství. Cílem práce je posouzení současných možností využití výpočetní tomografie v soudním lékařství. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části práce je popsán obor forenzního lékařství a forenzní radiologie včetně historie. Dále pak radiodiagnostické metody a samostatně technický princip výpočetní tomografie a jeho využití při vyšetřování příčin náhlých a neočekávaných úmrtí. Praktická část je zpracována metodou retrospektivní analýzy, byla použita data 1.1 2019, 2020, 2021 až do 10.8. 2022. Součástí praktické části je doporučení metod v diagnostice určitých příčin úmrtí a podklad neboli "handout", jehož obsahem je přehled parametrů pro provádění PMCT vyšetření v rámci Fakultní nemocnice Ostrava. Postmortální CT vyšetření jsou interpretována pomocí diagnostických obrazů. Byl proveden experiment - angiografické vyšetření na vypreparovaném orgánu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of using computed tomography in forensic medicine. The aim of the thesis is to assess the current possibilities of using computed tomography in forensic medicine. The thesis is divided into two sections, a theoretical part, and a practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the field of forensic medicine and forensic radiology including its history. Furthermore radiodiagnostic methods and the separate technical principle of computed tomography and its use in investigating the causes of sudden and unexpected deaths. The practical part is processed using the method of retrospective analysis, there are used data from the years 2019, 2020, 2021 until August 10, 2022. The practical part includes a recommendation of methods in the diagnosis of certain causes of death and a handout, the content of which is an overview of the parameters for performing a PMCT examination within the Ostrava University Hospital. Postmortem CT scans are interpreted using images. There was made an experiment - angiographic examination on the dissected organ.
