Soothing the Emotional Brain: Modulation of Neural Activity by Tactile Social Support

Soothing the Emotional Brain: Modulation of Neural Activity by Tactile Social Support
Abstract:
Úvod: Vystavenie negatívnym emočným stimulom aktivuje špecifické neurálne okruhy v mozgu. Sociálna opora blízkou osobou môže regulovať emočné odpovede a poskytovať komfort avšak neurálne koreláty sociálnej opory sú vo veľkej miere neznáme. V súbore predkladaných štúdií sme skúmali neurálne odpovede na rôzne negatívne emočné stimuly, s dôrazom na neurofyziologické koreláty modulačného účinku taktílnej …more
Abstract:
Background: Exposure to negative emotional stimuli activates specific neural networks in the brain. Social support, such as by one’s significant other, can regulate emotional responses and provide comfort, but the neural correlates of social support are mostly unknown. In a set of presented studies, we investigated the neural responses to various emotional stimuli with the emphasis on neurophysiological …more
