This thesis aims to compare the Czech translation of Královna a já to its English original considering the theories of acknowledged Czech theoreticans. The theoretical part introduces the main protagonists who contributed to the birth of the novel, it acquaints its readers with the history of translation and current theoretical approaches to translation.
