Active teaching methods on the example of the physical geography of Europe

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá aktivními výukovými metodami na příkladu fyzické geografie Evropy. Cílem práce bylo navrhnout aktivitu, která pracuje s různými typy znalostí žáka/studenta. Při aktivitě studenti pracují s fotografiemi vybraných evropských krajin, ke kterým přiřazují různé charakteristiky a diskutují o nich. V rámci práce byla aktivita otestována na studentech víceletého gymnázia a studentech geografie na vysoké škole. Znalosti, které při ní získali, byly následně ověřeny kontrolním testem. Ten ukázal, že studenti dokáží krajinu charakterizovat z hlediska reliéfu, srážkových úhrnů a vegetace, jiné charakteristiky jim činí problémy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with active teaching methods on the example of physical geography of Europe. The aim of the thesis was to design an activity that would work with different types of knowledge. Students work with photographs of European landscape during the activity. They match various characteristics to the photographs and discuss them. The activity was tested on secondary school students and geography students at a university. The knowledge they gained from the activity was later tested in a test. The test showed that the students are able to characterize the landscape in terms of its topographical relief, precipitation and vegetation. Other characteristics appeared to be rather problematic for them.
