Willingness to entrepreneurship of secondary school students in Teplice region

Abstract:

Podnikání je jednou z důležitých součástí ekonomiky a je považováno za jeden z klíčových hnacích motorů hospodářského rozvoje. Vzhledem k tomu je nutné znát faktory, které ovlivňují dnešní mladé lidi při rozhodování začít podnikat, a které považují za důležité, jelikož právě oni jsou příštími potencionálními podnikateli. Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, jaká je míra ochoty k podnikání u studentů středních škol ekonomických a technických oborů na Teplicku a zjistit, které ze sledovaných sociálních a ekonomických faktorů tuto ochotu ovlivňují a které faktory jsou pro studenty důležité. K dosažení cíle práce byla použita primární data, která byla získána pomocí metody dotazníkového šetření od studentů 3. a 4. ročníků středních škol na Teplicku (n=151). Na základě dotazníkového šetření byla zjišťována důležitost jednotlivých sociálních a ekonomických faktorů, vliv pohlaví, studovaného oboru či přítomnosti podnikatele v rodině na míru ochoty k podnikání. K vyhodnocení dat byla použita popisná statistika a dále při vyhodnocení hypotéz neparametrické statistické testy. Výsledkem práce je zjištění, že jsou studenti průměrně ochotni podnikat na 37 %. Míra ochoty podnikat u studentů je při ukončení školy méně než 20 %, později v životě však vzrostla na více než 50 %. Jako nejdůležitější faktory, díky kterým by studenti začali podnikat, označili větší finanční výdělek či možnost využití vlastních schopností. Jako nejdůležitější faktory, které by studenty naopak od podnikání odradili, označili velké daňové zatížení a nepravidelný příjem. Bylo zjištěno, že přítomnost podnikatele v rodině má pozitivní vliv na míru ochoty k podnikání. Vliv pohlaví se prokázal pouze v časovém období podnikání bezprostředně po ukončení studia, poté již však nikoliv. Hodnocení důležitosti faktorů se neliší podle studovaného oboru respondenta, podle pohlaví již u vybraných položek ano. Výsledky šetření mohou podpořit vytváření koncepcí zaměřených na podporu podnikání v regionu a taktéž mohou být užitečné pro zlepšování metodik ve vzdělávacích systémech středních škol. Údaje mohou být užitečné například úřadům státní správy a samosprávy či zájmovým sdružením, a také mohou sloužit jako podklad pro další výzkum.

Abstract:

Entrepreneurship is one of the important parts of the economy and is considered one of the key drivers of economic development. Because of this, it is necessary to know the factors that influence today's young people in their decision-making to start a business, and which they consider important, as they are the next potential entrepreneurs. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out what is the degree of willingness to do business for students of secondary schools of economics and technology in Teplice region and to find out which of the monitored social and economic factors affect this willingness and which factors are important for students. To achieve the aim of the work, primary data were used, which were obtained using the method of questionnaire survey from students of 3rd and 4th year of secondary schools in Teplice region (n = 151). Based on the questionnaire survey, the importance of individual social and economic factors, the influence of gender, field of study or the presence of an entrepreneur in the family on the degree of willingness to do business were determined. Descriptive statistics were used to evaluate the data and non-parametric statistical tests were used to evaluate the hypotheses. The result of the work is the finding that students are on average willing to do business at 37 %. Students' willingness to do business is less than 20 % at school, but rose to more than 50 % later in life. They identified greater financial earnings or the possibility of using their own abilities as the most important factors that would allow students to start a business. On the contrary, they identified a large tax burden and irregular income as the most important factors that would discourage students from doing business. It was found that the presence of an entrepreneur in the family has a positive effect on the level of willingness to do business. The influence of gender was proven only in the time period of business immediately after graduation, but then no longer. The evaluation of the importance of factors does not differ according to the field of study of the respondent, according to gender already for selected items. The results of the survey can support the development of concepts aimed at supporting entrepreneurship in the region and can also be useful for improving methodologies in secondary school education systems. The data can be useful, for example, to state and local government authorities or interest groups, and can also serve as a basis for further research.
