Abstract:

Vznik komunistických režimů v Československu a v Polsku vyvolal odpor společnosti. Jeho podoba, rozsah i formy se lišily. Tyto rozdíly vyplývaly ze specifik dané země, regionu, historických tradic i dopadu druhé světové války. Předmětem této práce je přiblížení a komparace organizovaného odporu prostřednictvím regionů Ústecka a Toruňska. Stranou pozornosti nezůstává ani nástin historického vývoje uvedených oblastí, odbojové aktivity během války a postoj společnosti k nové vládě. Za tímto účelem byl proveden rozsáhlý výzkum v českých i polských archivech a důkladné studium literatury. Na základě souhrnných údajů i ilustrativních případů je představeno formování skupin odporu. Vlastní činnost měla charakter ozbrojeného odporu, rozšiřování protikomunistické propagandy či rozvědných aktivit. Nechybí ani zmapování a srovnání postupů bezpečnostních složek při likvidaci odporu, vyšetřovacích metod či postupů justičního aparátu. V neposlední řadě jsou též nastíněny některé další osudy osob, které vystoupily proti totalitnímu režimu. Na základě tohoto srovnání vyvstávají pro sledované regiony určitá specifika, týkající se zejména motivace, definice nepřítele, konspiračních postupů či forem rezistence. V jiných záležitostech naopak lze vysledovat řadu shodných rysů, zejména co se týče možností odporu, jenž byl v obou zemích limitován rozdělenými postoji společnosti.

Abstract:

The creation of the communist regimes in Czechoslovakia and Poland caused resistance in society. The form, scale, and methods of resistance used were different in nature. These differences depend on the specifics of particular countries, regions, historical traditions, and the advent of the Second World War. The subject of this thesis concerns the description and comparison of organized resistance in the regions of Ústí nad Labem and Toruň. A historical context of activities of resistance during the war has been outlined in those areas, in parallel with the different attitudes of society towards the newly established regimes. For this purpose, extensive research and consistent study of the literature in Czech and Polish archives were carried out. This thesis summarises data and brings illustrative cases related to the formation of resistance groups. Amongst the typical activities of these groups were the spread of anti communist propaganda and intelligence; and their engagement in certain forms of armed resistance. Security forces handled the elimination of the underground movement, for which methods have been described and compared, in addition to the investigation procedures of the judicial apparatus. Lastly, the lives and experiences of some of those who stood against the totalitarian regimes are depicted. This comparison sheds light on particular specifics, such as motivation, the definition of the enemy, conspiracy techniques, and forms of resistance. Alternatively, some aspects of the resistance display obvious similarities between both countries primarily limited by divided societies.
