Picaresque elements in the novel "Svejk the good soldier" by Jaroslav Hašek

Abstract:

This work /thesis/ ranks amongst comparative literature. The subject matter of the research is the genre of picaresque novel. I have searched for the roots of the Spanish picaresque novel in Arabian maqamas. Having determined identical features of a number of works falling under this genre and "maqama Assadusí" and being equipped with these instruments /findings/, I have approached to a study of Jaroslav Hašek, a Czech writer, "Osudy dobrého vojáka Švejka" (The Good Soldier Švejk). The structure of this genre comparison is based on the synchronism criterion in the genre or the system of relations between the genre, themes and characters without abandoning the socio-historical reality, which is reflected in each work through the History.

Abstract:

Tato práce /teze/ se zařazuje k literatuře srovnávací. Cílem zkoumání je žánr pikareskní novely. Hledám kořeny španělské pikareskní novely v arabských maqamách. Poté, co jsem určil shodné body mezi řadou děl tohoto žánru a ,maqamami Assadusí, a vyzbrojen těmito nástroji /poznatky/, přikročil jsem ke studiu díla českého spisovatele Jaroslava Haška ,Osudy dobrého vojáka Švejka,. Struktura tohoto žánrového srovnání se zakládá na kritériu synchronie v žánru nebo systému vztahů mezi žánrem, tématy a postavami, aniž by bylo vybočeno ze socio-historické reality , jež se promítá v každém díle a prostřednictvím Historie.
