Exploratory driling and shale gas in Náchodsko

Abstract:

Diplomová magisterská práce se zabývá otázkou průzkumu a těžby břidlicového plynu jako energetického zdroje, který může být ekonomicky velmi výhodný a z hlediska energetické bezpečnosti strategický. Na druhou stranu s sebou nese mnoho negativních dopadů, zejména environmentálních. První teoretická část objasňuje kontext tématu, tedy zahraniční i české souvislosti ohledně průzkumu a těžby břidlicového plynu, její pozitiva a negativa a metody těžby. Dále je přiblížena i situace v regionech Náchodsko a Trutnovsko. Druhá, empirická část, se věnuje postojům starostů z daného regionu k průzkumu a těžbě břidlicového plynu. To spočívá v provedení a analýze hloubkových rozhovorů. Cílem je zjistit, jak zástupci obcí vnímali, řešili a byli schopni ovlivnit nastalou situaci při procesu povolování průzkumu a případné těžby břidlicového plynu a jaká kritéria pro ně byla klíčová.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the exploration and exploitation of shale gas, which can be very useful, cheap and convenient energy source and could play strategic role in energy security. On the other hand, it could carry a lot of negative impacts, particularly environmental ones. The first theoretical part explains the context of the topic, ie foreign and Czech context regarding the exploration and exploitation of shale gas, its positives and negatives and extraction methods. Situation in the regions Náchodsko and Trutnovsko is also described there. The second, empirical part focuses on the attitudes of mayors from the region towards exploration and exploitation of shale gas. In order to receive information, in-depth interviews were carried out. The thesis is aiming to find out how mayors perceived, addressed and were able to influence the situation in the permission process on exploration of potential shale gas and the criteria, which were crucial for them.
