Collectivization and Its Impacts on Village Life. By the Example of the Village of Obříství in Mělník District

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá tématem kolektivizace a socializace venkova na příkladu středočeské vesnice Obříství. V této obci bylo na konci 40. let 20. století založeno JZD a zřízen státní statek. Cílem práce je zachytit průběh združstevňování, ale také popsat činnost a hospodaření zdejšího JZD a státního statku. Průběh kolektivizace v Obříství je doplněn příběhy tří kulackých rodin, z nichž dvě byly na počátku 50. let 20. století z obce násilně vystěhovány. Práce přináší také další příběhy zemědělských rodin, jejichž život byl výrazně poznamenán změnou politického režimu v roce 1948. Bylo využito metod kvalitativního výzkumu – práce čerpá z písemných pramenů v podobě obecních a rodinných kronik a vychází rovněž z rozhovorů s pamětníky.

Abstract:

This master´s diploma thesis deals with the subject of collectivization and socialization of rural areas by the example of the village of Obříství in central Bohemia. In the late 40s of 20th century a united collective farm (JZD) and a state farm were established in this village. The purpose of this thesis is to depict the progress of collectivization, but also to describe the activities and the ways of farming of the local collective and state farms. The course of collectivization in Obříství is supplemented with the stories of three “kulak” families, of whom two were forced to move out of the village in the early 50s of 20th century. This thesis also brings two more stories of peasant families whose lives were affected by the change of the political regime in 1948. For this thesis, methods of qualitative research were applied – the diploma work draws upon written sources in the forms of local and familial chronicles and, likewise, it proceeds from the dialogues with the eyewitnesses.
