Cryptography as a part of information security

Anotace:

Předmětem diplomové práce je poskytnutí uceleného náhledu na problematiku bezpečnosti informací a vyhodnocení bezpečnosti hromadné radiokomunikační sítě integrovaného záchranného systému, jakožto prvku kritické informační infrastruktury státu. V teoretické části jsou definovány základní pojmy a charakteristiky prvků kritické infrastruktury, oblasti a procesy určování prvků kritické informační infrastruktury a významných informačních systémů, návaznost na legislativní vymezení a bezpečnost informací. Rovněž je zde vysvětlen pojem kyberprostoru, kryptografie a její úloha při zajištění bezpečnosti komunikačních systémů. Praktická část je zaměřena na analýzu předmětného komunikačního systému. V návaznosti na stanovený cíl je analýza provedena pro dva typy využívaných technologií. Stávající využívaná technologie a nahrazující modernizovaný typ. Jako výzkumná metoda je zvolena SWOT analýza, neboť se jedná o univerzální analytickou techniku s možností propojení do praxe. Cílem diplomové práce je objasnit problematiku kryptografické ochrany informací ve vztahu k ochraně kritické informační infrastruktury a významných informačních systémů se zaměřením na složky integrovaného záchranného systému. Závěrem bude rozvaha nad dalším vývojem komunikačního systému v návaznosti na zjištěné slabé stránky s cílem jejich eliminace. Zároveň možnosti efektivního využití příležitostí s návazností na ostatní prvky kritické infrastruktury státu a potřeb přeshraniční komunikace v rámci mezinárodní spolupráce a kooperací při řešení společných operací.

Abstract:

The subject of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the information security and evaluation of the security of the mass radio communication network of the integrated rescue system as an element of the critical information infrastructure of the state. The theoretical part defines basic concepts and characteristics of critical infrastructure elements, areas, as well as processes of determining critical information infrastructure elements, and important information systems, as they are in relation to legislative definition and information security. It also explains the concept of cyberspace, cryptography and its role in ensuring the security of communication systems. The practical part focuses on the analysis of the aforementioned communication system in question. Following the stated objective, analysis is performed for two types of technologies used. The existing used technology, and the new modernized type. A SWOT analysis is chosen as a research method, as it is a universal analytical technique with the possibility of applying it in practice. The aim of the master thesis is to clarify the issue of cryptographic information protection in relation to the protection of the critical information infrastructure and important information systems, with a focus on the integrated rescue system components. The conclusion will reflect the further development of the communication system in relation to the identified weaknesses with the aim of their elimination. At the same time, the possibilities of effective use of opportunities in relation to other elements of the critical infrastructure of the state, and the needs of cross-border communication within the framework of international cooperation and cooperation in joint operations will also be reflected upon.
