Porcelain to admire - crochet technique in contemporary art

Abstract:

V rámci bakalářské práce byl za pomoci techniky háčkování vytvořen ochranný obal pro babiččin porcelánový servis. Projekt je nazván Porcelán na odiv, který reflektuje proces uchování křehkého porcelánového servisu, jež ve většině domácností slouží jen jako dekorativní prvek v obývací stěně. Samotný dekor je transformován a stylizován na jednodušší, ale rozpoznatelný motiv servisu. Cílem této práce se stává reflexe tématu rukodělných technik v umění, zejména pak techniky háčkování.

Abstract:

In the framework of the bachelor thesis, the protective cover was created using the crochet technique for a grandmother´s porcelain service. The project is called Porcelain, which reflects the process of preserving a fragile porcelain service, which in most households serves only as a decorative element in the living wall. The decor itself is transformed and styled into a simpler but more recognizable theme of service. The aim of this thesis is the reflection of the theme of hand-crafted techniques in art, especially the technique of crochet.
