The symbolism of the ark in fine arts with a focus on contemporary art

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem Symbolika archy ve výtvarném umění se zaměřením na současné umění, se zabývá námětem archy v umělecko-historickém kontextu. Je v ní popsáno biblické pojetí archy a její měnící se podoba v kontextu křesťanské ikonografie. Dále jsou zde zmínění autoři v umělecko-historickém kontextu, jejichž tvorba se dotýká námětu archy a její symboliky především v současném výtvarném umění. Uvedená tematika tvoří podstatu triptychu maleb. Hlavní ideou tohoto díla bylo autorčino současné pojetí archy a její symboliky.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis entitled The Symbolism of the Ark in Fine Arts - with a focus on contemporary art, deals with the theme of the Ark in an artistic-historical context. It describes the biblical concept of the ark and its changing form in the context of Christian iconography. Furthermore, there are mentioned authors in the art-historical context, whose work touches on the theme of the ark and its symbolism, especially in contemporary art. The mentioned theme forms the essence of a triptych of paintings. The main idea of this work was the author's current conception of the ark and its symbolism.
