Palliative irradiation to the bone

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce seznamuje s paliativní radioterapií nádorových ložisek metastazujících do skeletu. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena do dvou částí na teoretickou a výzkumnou. Teoretická část je složena ze základních fyzikálních pojmů, obecné anatomie skeletu, vysvětlením radioterapie, popisem nádorů, seznámení s nukleární medicínou a přístroji používaných pro ozáření metastatických ložisek do skeletu. Výzkumná část je zaměřena na výzkum a vyhodnocení dat získaných v onkologickém centru v Pardubické nemocnici.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis introduces the reader to palliative radiotherapy of cancerous deposits metastatizing into the skeleton. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part concerns itself with basic physics concepts, the general anatomy of the skeleton, describing radiotherapy, describing tumours, an introduction to nuclear medicine, and machines used for irradiating metastasized deposits in the skelet. The research concerns itself with the research and evaluation of data gained in the oncological centre in Pardubice hospital.
