Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá politickým násilím jako nástrojem pro dosažení politických cílů na příkladu organizace Islámský stát. Cílem práce je tedy interpretace toho, jakým způsobem je politické násilí ze strany organizace Islámský stát používáno k dosažení jejích politických cílů. Práce je koncipována jako případová explanatorní studie, přičemž v teoretické části se věnuje konceptualizaci kolektivního politického násilí a terorismu jako forem soupeřivé politiky, a to optikou teoretiků a průkopníků konceptu soupeřivé politiky a výzkumu sociálních hnutí. Teoretický rámec přejímá především od Charlese Tillyho. Tento teoretik soupeřivé politiky vytvořil originální typologii interpersonálního násilí, ze které práce přejímá typy, které obsahují charakteristiky spjaté s terorismem. Jedná se o násilné rituály, koordinovanou destrukci a rozptýlené útoky. Rovněž se zabýval vlivem politických identit, politických podnikatelů a specialistů na násilí na proces politického násilí, což teoretická část tato práce rovněž reflektuje. V praktické části se práce zaměřuje na organizaci Islámský stát jako na vykonavatele politického násilí od roku 2011 do roku 2019 a aplikuje na ní poznatky popsané v teoretické části, a to včetně výše zmíněné typologie. Vybrané období koreluje s Práce se zde zabývá identitou organizace Islámský stát vztažené k jejím cílům, politickým podnikatelům ve službách IS, jeho specialistům na násilí, a rysům politického násilí vykonávaného organizací.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with political violence as a tool for achieving political goals on the example of the Islamic State. This work aims to interpret how political violence by the Islamic State is used to achieve its political goals. The thesis is conceived as a case explanatory study, while the theoretical part deals with the conceptualization of collective political violence and terrorism as forms of contentious politics, from the perspective of theorists and pioneers of the concept of contentious politics and social movement research. It adopts the theoretical framework primarily from Charles Tilly. This theorist of contentious politics created an original typology of interpersonal violence, from which this work adopts types that contain characteristics related to terrorism. These are violent rituals, coordinated destruction, and scattered attacks. Charles Tilly also dealt with the influence of political identities, political entrepreneurs, and violence specialists on the process of political violence, which the theoretical part of this work also reflects. The practical part of the work focuses on the Islamic State organization as an executor of political violence from 2011 to 2019. It applies the knowledge described in the theoretical section, including the above-mentioned typology. The thesis deals with the identity of the Islamic State organization in relation to its goals, political entrepreneurs in IS services, its violence specialists, and the features of political violence perpetrated by the organization.
