Analysis of Factors Influencing Price in the Bus Transport Tenders

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the determinants of pricing in the road transportation industry in the Czech Republic. The study analyzes a dataset of 240 tenders for transport services collected over a period of eight years, from 2015 to 2022. The dataset includes information on the price per kilometer, the number of bids received, contract risk (gross or net), contract length in years, fuel prices, labor costs, and regional dummy variables. The study uses ordinary least squares (OLS) regression analysis to identify the factors that influence the price per kilometer. The results indicate that the year the contract was concluded, contract risk, contract length, fuel prices, and labor costs are significant determinants of pricing in the industry. The study also finds that some regions in the Czech Republic have a significant impact on the price per kilometer. This research provides insights into the factors that influence pricing in the road transportation industry in the Czech Republic and can be used by transport companies and policy-makers to make informed decisions.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca skúma faktory tvorby cien v autobusovej linkovej doprave v Českej republike. Štúdia analyzuje súbor údajov 88 ponúk na dopravné služby zozbieraných počas ôsmich rokov, od roku 2015 do roku 2022. Súbor údajov obsahuje informácie o cene na kilometer, počte prijatých ponúk, riziku zmluvy (brutto alebo netto), dĺžke zmluvy v rokoch, ceny palív, mzdové náklady a regionálne umelé premenné. Štúdia využíva obyčajnú regresnú analýzu najmenších štvorcov (OLS) na identifikáciu faktorov, ktoré ovplyvňujú cenu na kilometer. Výsledky naznačujú, že rok uzavretia zmluvy, zmluvné riziko, dĺžka zmluvy, ceny pohonných hmôt a mzdové náklady sú významnými determinantmi tvorby cien v odvetví. Práca tiež zistila, že niektoré regióny v Českej republike majú významný vplyv na výslednú cenu na kilometer. Tento výskum poskytuje pohľad na faktory, ktoré ovplyvňujú cenotvorbu v odvetví cestnej dopravy v Českej republike a môže byť použitý dopravnými spoločnosťami a tvorcami politík na prijímanie informovaných rozhodnutí.
