Abstract:
RNA polymerase (RNAP) is a key enzyme in RNA synthesis catalyzing transcription. For efficient function the RNAP and its specificity has to be regulated via interactions with additional subunits. In this thesis, we focused on subunits determining specificity of RNAP from Gram-positive Bacillus subtilis. The delta subunit of RNAP is a unique protein, present only in Gram-positive bacteria.
