Chemical synthesis of metal alloy nanoparticles with controlled mophology and composition

Abstract:

Tato disertační práce se věnuje chemické přípravě bimetalických nanočástic, jejich kompletní charakterizaci a srovnání naměřených teplot fázových přechodů s teoretickými výpočty. Nanočástice AgNi a AgCu byly syntetizovány tepelnou dekompozicí komerčních i nově připravených prekurzorů ve směsi oktadecenu a oleylaminu. Byl sledován průběh reakce i vliv použité výchozí látky na jejich vlastnosti. Distribuce velikostí částic byla popsána metodami dynamického rozptylu světla, maloúhlového rozptylu rentgenového záření a transmisní elektronové mikroskopie. Morfologie částic byla charakterizována skenovací transmisní elektronovou mikroskopií s energiově disperzní spektroskopií. Fázové přeměny byly sledovány diferenční kompenzační kalorimetrií. Výsledky této analýzy byly porovnány s příslušným fázovým diagramem vypočítaným metodou CALPHAD.

Abstract:

This dissertation work deals with chemical synthesis of bimetallic nanoparticles, their complete characterization and comparison of experimentally obtained phase transition temperatures with theoretical calculations. The AgNi and AgCu nanoparticles were synthesized by thermal decomposition of both commercial and newly prepared precursors in the mixture of octadecene and oleylamine. The course of the reactions and the effect of the metal sources on their properties were monitored. Particle size distribution was studied by dynamic light scattering, small angle X-ray scattering, and transmission electron microscopy. Particle morphology was characterized by scanning transmission electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy. Phase transformations were monitored by differential scanning calorimetry. The results of this analysis were compared with the corresponding phase diagram calculated by the CALPHAD method.
