The Impact of American Economic Aid on Post-War Recovery of Japan and Germany

Abstract:

The subject of the thesis is the analysis and comparison of the impact of American economic aid in the 1940s and 1950s on the recovery of the post-war Japanese and German economies. Economic aid includes both financial resources and technical assistance in the creation of economic reforms. It focuses on the definition of the post-war situation in Japan and Germany and on the characteristics of the factors that significantly influenced the development of economic policies in both analysed countries. The thesis concludes with a comparison of these factors.

Abstract:

Predmetom diplomovej práce je analýza a porovnanie vplyvu americkej ekonomickej pomoci v 40. a 50. rokoch minulého storočia na obnovu povojnového japonského a nemeckého hospodárstva. Ekonomická pomoc zahrňuje ako finančné prostriedky, tak aj technickú pomoc pri tvorbe hospodárskych reforiem. Práca sa zameriava na vymedzenie povojnového stavu v Japonsku a Nemecku a na charakteristiku faktorov, ktoré významne ovplyvnili vývoj hospodárskych politík v oboch analyzovaných krajinách. Záverom práce je komparácia týchto faktorov.
