Selective mutism in young school age girl

Abstract:

Komunikace je složitý proces přenosu informací, který má významný vliv na rozvoj osobnosti. V souvislosti s komunikací můžeme mluvit o mnoha komunikačních potřebách a motivech. Kromě verbální komunikace známe ještě složku neverbální, která výrazně dotváří obsah sdělení. Pokud jedna nebo více rovin jazykových projevů působí interferenčně vzhledem ke komunikačnímu záměru jednotlivce, mluvíme o tzv. narušené komunikační schopnosti. Tuto narušenou komunikační schopnost můžeme rozdělit do deseti kategorií a jednou z nich je mutismus. Lze jej vysvětlit jako útlum řeči nebo také jako ztrátu schopnosti verbálně komunikovat. Dítě s tímto narušením nemluví, schopnost verbální komunikace je zachována. Nemluví např. výběrově s určitou osobou, nebo v určitém prostředí. Mutismus lze rozřadit do několika kategorií (autistický, neurotický, psychotický, reaktivní, situační a další), avšak v současné době mluvíme pouze o jediné formě, a tou je mutismus elektivní. Ten se nachází na pomezí psychologie a logopedie, v praxi by mělo docházet k propojení a spolupráci obou.

Abstract:

Communication is a complicated informacion transmitting process which has a significant effect on personality advancement. In connection with communication we can distinguish many communication needs and motives. Besides verbal communication also nonverbal communication is very important for the message. If one or more levels of speech work interferentialy with the communication plan of a person, we talk about so-called disturbed communication ability which can be split up to ten categories. One of them is mutism. It is defined as an inhibition of speaking or as a loss of the verbal communication ability. A child with this problem does not speak at all, with a specific person or in a specific situation or environment, while the verbal communication ability is well-kept. Mutism is usually devided into a few categories such as (autistic, neurotic, psychotic, reactive, situational and others). But recently these are often reduced to only form and that is the elective mutism which is lying on the borderline between psychology and speech therapy. In practice both should be combined and cooperate.
