Etruscans, a Mysterious Nation of the Ancient Time, which Represents the First Civilisation Developed on the Italian Peninsula

Abstract:

The Etruscans are still today a mysterious nation, their origin, as well as their creation, belong to the mostly discussed topics, their language could be reconstructed only partially, their history is traceable only in the main aspects. The full secret of this antique population remains undetected in spite of rich and fascinating archeological discoveries. The aim of our thesis is not to answer all the questions connected with this exceptional civilization. We will leave it to archeologists, historians and real experts for Etruscan issues. The first part of our thesis tries to summarize different scientific opinions on the basic questions of the origin of Etruscans, their language and their faith and religion. The second part of the thesis is oriented to the city of Tarquinia and its necropolis where the special evidence of the ancient Etruscan civilization was found. We would like to introduce three different tombs decorated with paintings which represent unique documentation of three different historical periods of the monumental antique paintings. The main aim should be to show what we can learn from splendid wall paintings about the life, culture, religion and way of thinking of Etruscans even if we are not the scientists and our knowledge of Etruscan people is based mainly on the information in the books mentioned in the bibliography.

Abstract:

Etruskové jsou ještě dnes tajemným národem, jejich původ, utváření národa a jazyk představují témata dosti diskutovaná. Tato bakalářská práce nemá za cíl odpovědět na veškeré otázky, které se objevují kolem této výjimečné civilizace, my se v první části práce snažíme pouze shrnout různé názory odborníků na některé ze základních otázek. A tak se tedy zabýváme problémem původu Etrusků, jejich jazykem a jejich náboženstvím. Ve druhé části naší práce se věnujeme, podle legendy nejstaršímu etruskému městu, Tarquinii a její nejznámější nekropoli, ze které pocházejí jedinečná svědectví o starověké etruské civilizaci. Přesněji máme v úmyslu představit tři různé malované hrobky, které pocházejí ze tří různých historických období a na nich ukázat, co se můžeme dozvědět o životě, kultuře, náboženství a způsobu myšlení Etrusků, i když nejsme vědci a naše znalosti o Etruscích se zakládají na informacích obsažených v knihách, uvedených v poznámkách a seznamu literatury.
