Abstract:

Komunita ostrova Čečeň v Kaspickém moři Abstrakt Ostrov Čečeň, který historicky patří mezi nejvýznamnější ostrovy Kaspického moře, se nachází v jeho severozápadní části. Je součástí nejjižnější republiky Ruské federace Dagestánu. Leží na pevninském šelfu, který v této části Kaspického moře dosahuje přibližně šířky 40 km. Je pozůstatkem fluviální deltové akumulace řeky Terek, která je zčásti ponořená pod hladinou a tím je ostrov oddělen od pevniny. Jeho velikost záleží na výšce úrovně hladiny moře. Ostrov Čečeň, jehož plocha je 53,7 km2 (2008), je od pevniny vzdálen 18 km, což vždy způsobovalo významný vliv z pevniny. Díky tomu se například v průběhu historie mnohokrát proměnila velikost a struktura populace. Dnes na ostrově žijí lidé čtyř národností: Rusové, Avaři, Darginci, Nogajci a dvou vyznání: pravoslaví a islámu. O poměrně snadné ostrovní přístupnosti svědčí i relativně nízký koeficient izolovanosti ostrova. Podle oficiálních údajů žije na ostrově 170 obyvatel (2009). Tento počet se v průběhu roku mění. Ostrov pro mnohé slouží jako druhé bydlení a mnozí na ostrov přijíždějí pouze za rybolovem. Proto je ostrov v hlavní části sezóny (v létě) obydlen hustěji – na ostrov přijíždějí např. i Čečenci a Ázerbajdžánci. Naopak v zimě klesá počet trvale bydlících obyvatel na 30. Geografický výzkum ostrova byl prioritně založen na terénním výzkumu orientovaným především etnograficky ve smyslu „thick description“ (Geertz 1987). Vychází ze zúčastněného pozorování - participace na každodenním životě. Jedná se tedy o využití především hlubinných dat, které vystihují zkoumanou realitu jinak než data povrchová (Cloke et al. 2004). Inspirací je mimo jiné použití abdukce v geografickém výzkumu, kterou uvádí ve své práci Holt-Jensen (2001), nebo Giddensova teorie strukturace (1984) či postupy Maxe Webera, který předpokládá, že když porozumíme smyslu a významu jednání člověka, procesu sociální interakce, porozumíme sociální realitě. Výzkumná metodologie tedy nevychází pouze ze spolupráce s geografickými vědami, ale čerpá z interdisciplinární spolupráce s negeografickými vědami jako je etnografie, antropologie, sociologie, filosofie a psychologie. Výzkum, který vychází z vnímání reality ostrovními subjekty byl orientovaný ve smyslu posouzení možností trvale udržitelného rozvoje a ostrovní bezpečnosti. Byly identifikovány hlavní ostrovní problémy, které mají bezprostřední vliv na život ostrovní komunity a vůbec na existenci ostrova: přírodní rizika (klimatické změny, kolísání úrovně hladiny moře); stoupající znečištění; ilegální lov ryb; nakládání s odpady; piráti na Kaspickém moři; dezertifikace; nevýkonná veřejná správa. Hledá se způsob identifikace těchto problémů ostrovní komunitou a přístup k jejich řešení.

Abstract:

The Community of the Chechen island in the Caspian Sea Abstract Chechen Island historically belongs among the most significant islands of the Caspian Sea, being located in its the northwestern part. It is a part of the southern republic of Russia federation – Daghestan. It is situated on a continental shelf, which in this part of the Caspian Sea reaches a width of 40 km. As a former fluvial accumulation of the Terek-river delta, which is partly submerged under the surface, the island is separated from the mainland. Its size depends on the vertical fluctuation of sea-level. Chechen Island, whose area reaches about 53,7 km2 (2008), is 18 km from the mainland. It was always significantly influenced by the mainland. It caused changes of structure and number of the island population during its history. At present there are inhabitants of four nationalities: Russians, Avars, Dargins, Nogays, and two religions, Orthodoxy and Islam, on the island. The relatively low coefficient of island insularity indicates about relatively insular facility. According to the official data 170 inhabitants live there (2009). This number changes during the year. The Island functions as the second home for many people from the mainland and others come here only for hunting and fishing. The Island is relatively densely settled in the main season (summer) when even Chechens and Azerbajdhans come here. The number permanently living there falls to 30 in the winter season. Chechen Island with its special/unique attributes is a very promised place for the geographical research of the local community. Qualitative field research, which has a strong ethnographic orientation in the sense of “thick description“ by Geertz (1987), is applied. Based on participative observation of everyday practices prefers the concept of deeper data portraying studied reality rather different than surface data (Cloke et al. 2004). Holt-Jenesen´s (2001) and Gidden´s (1984) approaches are still living sources of methodology together with Max Weber´s respect to the meaning and sense of human action, social interaction. This type of methodology overcomes various geographies and is directed to interdisciplinary cooperation with ethnography, anthropology, sociology and e.g. psychology. Perception, mental maps and the geographical imagination of the island community tend towards sustainability and security. The main island problems and issues were identified, especially those with direct influence on the living experience of the island population: natural hazards/risks with climatic changes, water sea level fluctuation, increasing pollution level, illegal fishing and hunting, waste deposition, pirates in the Caspian Sea, inefficient public administration. Measures for improving the community situation are discussed.
