Interparental conflict and fears in adolescence

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na možnost predikce specifických strachů v adolescenci na základě vnímaného rodičovského konfliktu. Studie má explorační charakter. Vnímaný rodičovský konflikt je měřen pomocí dotazníku CPIC (Children´s Perception of Interparental Conflict), strachy jsou zjišťovány metodou Koláč strachu. Data od 322 respondentů studie ELSPAC ve věku 17 let poukazují na možnost predikce specifických strachů (strach z osamělosti, strach ze ztráty či ohrožení rodiny, strach ze ztráty či ohrožení přátel, strach z kritiky a selhání, strach z budoucího života, strach týkající se aktuálního romantického vztahu, strach týkají se budoucího romantického vztahu, strach z konfliktu) na základě některých subškál dotazníku CPIC. Na základě logistické regrese představují subškály Sebeobviňování, Obsah konfliktu, Řešení konfliktu a Triangulace signifikantní prediktory pro některé ze strachů. Vzhledem k tomu, že pro strachy týkající se ohrožení či ztráty rodiny, přátel a aktuálního romantického vztahu nevystupují žádné subškály jako signifikantní prediktory, nabízí se zde náměty k dalším výzkumům, které jsou naznačeny v závěru práce.

Abstract:

This contribution deals with the possibility of prediction of specific fears in adolescence on the basis of the perception of interparental conflict. This study has an explorative character. Perceived interparental conflict is measured by the Children´s Perception of Interparental Conflict scale (CPIC), fears are found out by using a metod called the “Cake of fears”. Data gathered from 322 17-year old respondents of ELSPAC study indicates the possibility of prediction of specific fears (fear of loneliness, fear of losing family, fear of losing friends, fear of criticism and failure, fear of future life, fear considering actual romantic relationship, fear considering future romantic relationship, fear of conflict) on the basis of some CPIC´s subscales. According to the logistic regression the subscales Self-blame, Content of conflict, Resolution of conflict and Triangulation represent significant predictors for certain fears. There are found no significant predictors for fears of losing family, friends or fear considering actual romantic relationship. There are thus presented themes for future researches, which are suggested in conclusion of this paper.
