Study of the cutting process and optimalization cutting of grey cast and ductile cast iron.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce v teoretické části pojednává o mechanismu tvorby třísky, vnějším soustružení a obrobitelnosti materiálu. Najdeme zde konkrétní popis zvolených materiálů: šedé litiny a tvárné litiny se zřetelem na jejich vlastnosti a charakteristiku. Dále jsou v práci popsány nástrojové materiály použité k obrábění a procesy opotřebení řezného nástroje. Praktická část je založena na optimalizaci řezného procesu. Zaměřili jsme se na obrábění materiálů šedé litiny a tvárné litiny formou vnějšího soustružení s provedením zkoušek trvanlivosti břitů. Tato část dále obsahuje analýzu a interpretaci výsledků z provedeného výzkumu, návrh kritérií optimálnosti z hlediska výrobních nákladů. Získané údaje se pak staly základem pro formulování závěrů práce.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the mechanism of chip formation, external turning process and the machinability of materials. Further more we will find concrete information of the chosen work pieces for this experiment: to be precise, the characteristics and properties of grey cast and ductile cast iron are outlined. Description of the cutting materials and tool wear process is briefly discussed. The practical part is based on research work focused on the influence of optimization of the cutting process. To carry out the tool life test in this experiment, we used grey cast and ductile cast iron as work pieces on a Engine lathe (external turning). These parts of the work furhter contain analysis and interpretation of results from the test carried out, plan of critical optimization from the standpoint of production cost. We compared the results and based on that we formulated the final results of our works.
