Feminism in the Concept of Simone de Beauvoir

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je představení feminismu coby významné společenské a politické ideologie dnešního světa. Zvláštní důraz bude kladen na pojetí feminismu u eminentní francouzské spisovatelky, myslitelky, filosofky a především také feministky Simone de Beauvoirové. Předmětem studie je doložení skutečnosti, proč bývá označována za jednu z nejinspirativnějších feministek na světě a její díla se překládají do řady světových jazyků. V úvodní části budou vyložena relevantní teoretická východiska pro psaní této diplomové práce, zohledněny přitom budou též aspekty politické filosofie (Barša, Friedan, Lipovetsky a další). Následně bude předmětem analýzy život a dílo samotné de Beauvoirové. V hlavní části práce se zaměříme na samotné znaky a specifiky feminismu u Simone de Beauvoirové, analytická část přinese rozbor vybraných aspektů feminismu a též to, jaký význam Simone de Beauvoirová sehrála v utváření feministických myšlenek a představ a jaký vliv představovalo její dílo s odkazem na důležitost její práce pro dnešní teorie. Simone de Beauvoirová byla nejen významnou spisovatelkou a teoretičkou feminismu, ale také důležitou postavou moderního existencialismu, toto hledisko bude v práci také zohledněno.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to present feminism as a major social and political ideology in the world today. Particular emphasis will be placed on the concept of feminism in eminent French writer, thinker, philosopher and especially feminists, Simone de Beauvoir. The subject of study will demonstrate why is she often referred as one of the most inspiring feminists in the world, and her works have been translated into many languages. In the first part there will be explain the theory of feminism by the relevant theoretical basis for the writing of this thesis and also will be taken into account some aspects of political philosophy (Barša, Friedan, Lipovetsky and others). Subsequently will be the subject of analysis the work and life of Beauvoir itself. The main part of the work will focus on the characters themselves and the specifics of feminism in Simone de Beauvoir, analytical part presents an analysis of selected aspects of feminism and also the implications Simone de Beauvoir has played in shaping feminist ideas and beliefs and the impact of her work featured with reference to the importance her work for the present theory. Simone de Beauvoir was not only a prominent writer and feminist theorist, but also an important figure in modern existentialism, this aspect will be reflected in the work as well.
