The Artworld of the internet. Transformation of the artist, the curator and the critic.

Anotácia:

Bakalářská práce s názvem „Svět umění na internetu. Transformace rolí umělce, kurátora a kritika“ se zaměřuje na problematiku přidělování statusu umění v prostředí internetu. Výchozím bodem pro práci je Institucionální analýza George Dickieho. Pro aktualizaci jeho analýzy jsou pak podstatné texty zaměřující se na dopad internetu ze sociologického i kulturního hlediska (Pierre Lévy, Technorealisté a další) a také samotná definice internetu. Cílem práce je objasnit nový princip přidělování statusu umění po příchodu internetu a transformaci rolí umělce, kurátora a kritika. Zaměříme se na nestabilní identitu umělce zabraňující podpisu díla, na práci kurátora zkomplikovanou nelineárním čtením (hypertext), na digitalizaci artefaktu a na demokratizaci kritiky.

Abstract:

Bachelor's thesis „The Artworld of the internet. Transformation of the artist, the curator and the critic.“ focuses on problems of assigning status of the work of art in the environment of the internet. Base of the thesis is Institutional analysis by George Dickie. To update his analysis we use substantial texts focusing on the impact of the internet from sociological and cultural point of view (Pierre Lévy, Technorealists and many more) and also the definition of the internet. The thesis aims to analyse the new principle of status assignment influenced by expanding internet and the folowing transformation of the artist, the curator and the critic. We will focus on unstable identity of the artist that prevents him from signature, on the work of the curator complicated by non-linear reading (hypertext), on digitalization of the artifact and on the democratization of the critic.
