Birth rate and fertility in the Czech lands in the 1990s and present

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vývojem porodnosti a plodnosti na území České republiky od 90. let 20. století do současnosti. Cílem práce je provést analýzu a zhodnotit porodnost a plodnost společně s jinými ukazateli, které spolu navzájem souvisí. Práce je členěně do tří kapitol, kde první teoretická část hodnotí hlavní změny demografického chování populace a popisuje změny a trendy v porodnosti a plodnosti před a po roce 1990. Druhá kapitola, zabývající se samotnou analýzou, popisuje a graficky znázorňuje vývoj porodnosti, plodnosti, sňatečnosti či potratovosti a dále porovnává vybrané demografické ukazatele v krajích České republiky, jako je počet živě narozených mimo manželství, porodnost a průměrný věk matky při narození dítěte. Třetí, prognostická část, má za cíl na základě projekce porovnat skutečnou a projektovanou porodnost.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on development of birth rate and fertility in Czech Republic from the 1990s up to the present. The aim of the thesis is to analyze and evaluate birth rete and fertility with another demographic indicators which are closely related. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first theoretical part evaluates major demographic changes in behaviour among the population and describes changes and trends of birth and fertility not only from the beginning of the observed period, but also before 1990. The second part engages with analysis and graphical illustration of development of birth rate, fertility, marriage or abortion. It compares selected demographic indicators as the number of live born children outside marriage, birth rate and average age of mothers by childbirth between regions of the Czech Republic. The third prognostic part aims to compare real and predicted birth rate from 1966 until 2100.
