Srovnání šamanismu a neošamanismu

Today´s shamanism

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na současný šamanismus a neošamanismus. Vychází z literatury i z vlastního výzkumu. Nejprve nabízí stručný nástin vývoje těchto konceptů. Ukazuje, že má religionistika problém s tím, jak šamanismus a neošamanismus chápat. Tento problém spočívá v tom, že religionistika nemá jedinou definici náboženství. V případě šamanismu a neošamanismu není zcela jasné, zda je vhodné je chápat jako náboženství. Proto je raději označuji jako spirituality. Ovšem ani rozdíl mezi náboženstvím a spiritualitou není z religionistického hlediska neproblematický. Šamanistická i neošamanistická spiritualita podle mě směřuje k integraci všeho do jednoho celku skutečnosti. Kvůli mnohotvárnosti šamanismu a neošamanismu navrhuji rozlišit tři aspekty každého z nich, totiž aspekt rituální, aspekt kosmologický a aspekt sociální. Díky tomu lze šamanismus a neošamanismus odlišit od soukromého experimentování s psychotropními látkami. Šamanismus a neošamanismus nezbytně zahrnuje léčivé působení v širokém smyslu slova, a proto má šaman či neošaman nezbytný význam pro společnost, ve které žije. Za druhé se snažím šamanismus a neošamanismus srovnat. Jejich rozlišování umožňuje mluvit o vlivu obojího na sebe navzájem a odlišit jejich různé inspirační zdroje. Obojí se může lišit tím, na jaké společenské podmínky reaguje. Spíše v případě neošamanismu také dává smysl mluvit o tendencích vzdalujících neošamanismus spiritualitě a přibližujících ho naopak nástroji k získání soukromé psychotropní nebo extatické zkušenosti.

Abstract:

This work focuses on contemporary shamanism and neoshamanism. It is based on literature and my own research. Firstly it offers short schema of development of these concepts. It shows that Religious Studies have a problem how to understand shamanism and neoshamanism. This problem consists in the fact that Religious Studies doesn´t have single definition of religion. In the case of shamanism and neoshamanism it is not absolutely clear if it is appropriate to understand both of them as religions. And that´s why I rather call them spiritualities. However the difference between religion and spirituality is also problematic from the standpoint of Religious Studies. In my opinion shamanistic and neoshamanistic spirituality leads to integration of everything into one whole of universe. Because of variety of forms of shamanism and neoshamanism I suggest distinguish three aspects of both of them, namely ritual aspect, cosmological aspect and social aspect. Thanks to this distinction shamanism and neoshamanism may be distinguished from private experiments with psychotropic drugs. Shamanism and neoshamanism necessarily include healing effects in a broader sense of the word. Therefore shaman or neoshaman have necesarry meaning for society in which he lives. Secondly I try to compare shamanism and neoshamanism. Their difference enables us to speak about influence of both of them on each other and to distinguish their different inspirational sources. Both of them can differ in social conditions to which it responds. Rather in the case of neoshamanism it makes sense to speak about tendencies that move neoshamanism away from spirituality and move it at the same time closer to instrument to gain some private psychotropic or ecstatic experience.
