Integration of foreign nationals in Czechia with focus on migrants from Ukraine

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je soustředěna na problematiku integrace cizinců v Česku se zaměřením na migranty z Ukrajiny. Téma migrace a integrace cizinců je v posledních letech stále aktuálnější z důvodu neustálého nárůstu počtu cizinců v Česku. Práce analyzuje strukturu cizinců v Česku v období po roce 2004, po vstupu země do Evropské unie, do konce roku 2021. Právě ukrajinská diaspora je nejpočetněji zastoupenou migrační skupinou cizinců v Česku. Praktická část je orientována na zkoumaní problematiky integrační politiky státu a její implementace na regionální a lokální úrovni na příkladu Královehradeckého kraje. S pomocí dotazníkového šetření jsou demonstrovány hlavní faktory integrace ukrajinské minority a její asimilace do majoritní společnosti.

Abstract:

The theme of this Diploma thesis is Integration of foreign nationals in Czechia with a focus on migrants from Ukraine. The topic of migration and integration of foreigners has become increasingly relevant given the steady growth of the number of foreign nationals. The thesis analyzes the structure of foreign nationalities in Czechia after the year 2004 when the country joined the European Union, until the end of 2021. It is the Ukrainian diaspora that is the most numerous migrant group of foreigners in Czechia. The practical part of the thesis is oriented towards the examination of the issue of the integration policy of the state and its implementation at the regional and local level using the example of the Hradec Králové region. With the help of a questionnaire survey, the main factors of the integration of the Ukrainian minority and its assimilation into the majority society are demonstrated.
