Automatic extraction of definitions

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to design and implement a web application which can extract definitions from an entry text in english. Aplication also allows to rate correctness of the extracted definitions and to add own extraction rules. After initial introduction to definitions and setting the type of definition to extract, the thesis introduces the corpus manager Sketch Engine and its role within the implementation of the application. Next, the thesis describes current state of extration of definitions and the process of designing the application. Towards the ending of the thesis, thesis describes results achieved by application and also describes how to use it.

Abstract:

Cieľom práce je navrhnúť a následne implementovať aplikáciu, ktorá zo vstupného textu v angličtine dokáže extrahovať definície. Aplikácia taktiež ponúka možnosť vyhodnotiť správnosť extrahovaných definícií a pridávať vlastné pravidlá pre extrakciu. Po úvodnom oboznámení s definíciami a stanovení typu definícií k extrakcii, práca predstavuje korpusový manažér Sketch Engine a jeho rolu pri implementácii apli- kácie. Následne práca popisuje súčasný stav problematiky extrakcií a proces navrhnutia aplikácie. V závere práce sú zhrnuté výsledky tejto aplikácie na niekoľkých textoch spolu s popisom práce s aplikáciou.
