Molecular dynamics of argon bubbles in copper with the bombardment of argon atoms.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá simulacemi krystalu mědi, jeho tavením a bombardováním atomem argonu pomocí molekulární dynamiky. Krystal mědi je reprezentován pomocí Suttonova-Chenova potenciálu, interakce Ar-Ar a Ar-Cu jsou aproximovány Lennard-Jonesovým potenciálem. Nejdříve je provedeno ověření teploty tání pro krystal mědi v izotermickém a kanonickém souboru. Následují simulace krystalu mědi s dutinou vyplněnou atomy argonu s volným rozhraním. Závěrem práce je dutina vyplněná argonem bombardována volným atomem argonu s různou energii dopadu.

Abstract:

The master thesis deals with molecular dynamics simulations of copper crystal, its melt-ing and bombardment of the crystal by an argon atom. The Cu crystal is represented using the Sutton-Chen potential, and Ar-Ar and Ar-Cu interactions are approximated by Lennard-Jones potential. First, melting of Cu crystal is studied at constant-temperature and constant-pressure as well as constant-temperature and constant-volume conditions. Second, a cavity with pressurized argon atoms is created under the surface of Cu crys-tal. Finally, Cu crystal with the Ar cavity is bombarded by an Ar atom with varying bombardment energy.
