The thesis is an examination of the satirical character of the show South Park and the public debate caused by its controversial content, with the focal point set on the religious satire. The work lays down the theoretical background for the concepts of humor, parody, satire, intertextuality and incongruity, which are crucial for proper functioning of comedy, and therefore for South Park, too.
