Implementation of barcodes in the WOOD division of Matrix a.s. company

Abstract:

Předmětem této diplomové práce je na základě analýzy současného stavu výrobních a logistických procesů divize WOOD společnosti Matrix a.s. navržení postupu implementace čárových kódů, které přispějí ke zvýšení efektivity podnikových procesů a umožní vytvořit online přehled o stavu skladů. Teoretickou část tvoří literární rešerše, která čerpá z odborné literatury a článků z oblasti logistiky a automatické identifikace. V praktické části je divizi doporučen dodavatel implementačních prací a pomocí multikriteriální analýzy je za využití metody váženého součtu proveden výběr snímacího zařízení a tiskárny čárových kódů. Celkové náklady na implementaci čárových kódů jsou stanoveny kalkulací pořizovacích nákladů. Implementace je vyhodnocena pomocí SWOT analýzy, v rámci které je využita Fullerova metoda. Veškeré informace o podnikových procesech vychází z interních materiálů společnosti a z provedených osobních rozhovorů s ředitelem a zaměstnanci divize WOOD.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the analysis of the current production and logistics processes of the WOOD division of Matrix a.s. company. The main aim is to design a procedure for the implementation of barcodes, which should help to increase the efficiency of business processes and enable to create an online overview of the stocks. The theoretical part is consisted of literature research, which is built on professional literature and articles concerned with logistics and automatic identification. The practical part is focused on the recommendation to the division about the supplier of the implementation work and with the help of multi-criteria analysis, using the method of weighted sum, a selection of scanning equipment and barcode printers is performed. The total implementation costs are determined by calculating the initial costs. The implementation of barcodes is evaluated by SWOT analysis, with usage of Fuller method. All information about business processes is based on the company's internal materials and personal interviews with the director and employees of the WOOD division.
