Monitoring of Psophus Stridulus in Vsetín Region

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na výzkum významného a v současnosti velmi ohroženého druhu saranče vrzavá (Psophus stridulus) z řádu rovnokřídlých. Jeho výskyt je úzce spojený s hospodařením v krajině, jelikož vyžaduje mezofilní až termofilní stepní podmínky, které musí být udržovány antropogenně, z důvodu nepřítomnosti větších volně žijících býložravců, kteří by tento stav udržovali. Na konci léta 2015 jsem navštívil celkem 14 lokalit, na nichž jsem provedl výzkum biotopových charakteristik a výskytu saranče vrzavé. Součástí této práce je také krátké ohlédnutí do historie naší krajiny. Výsledky ukázaly, že výskyt Psophus stridulus je závislý na komplexu faktorů jako je charakter a zapojenost vegetace, prostředí obklopující biotop a způsob obhospodařování. Druhem nejpreferovanější jsou lokality, jejichž vegetace je stabilně udržována rozvolněná vlivem extenzivní pastvy (případně seče) a jež nejsou obklopeny cestou či lesem, což je faktor znemožňující migraci.

Abstract:

This thesis is specialized on the research of significant and currently highly endangered species of rattle grasshopper (Psophus stridulus) of the Orthoptera order. Its occurrence is closely associated with landscape management, since it requires mesophilic to thermophilic steppe conditions that must be maintained anthropogenically, due to the absence of large wild herbivores, who would maintain this status. In late summer 2015, I visited total of 14 sites on which I conducted research in habitat characteristics and the occurrence of rattle grasshopper. Part of this work is a brief look back into the history of our country. The results showed that the incidence of Psophus stridulus is dependent on complex factors such as the nature of vegetation and its surface coverage, the environment surrounding the biotope and management method. The most preferred locations are those whose vegetation is stably maintained loose due to extensive grazing (or cutting) and which are not surrounded by a road or a forest, which prevents migration.
