Possibilities of communication development in children with autism spectrum disorders – alternative and augmentative communication

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce popisuje možnosti rozvoje komunikace u dětí s poruchou autistického spektra pomocí alternativní a augmentativní komunikace. Část teoretická charakterizuje poruchy autistického spektra, jejich historii, etiologii a klasifikaci těchto poruch, zabývá se komunikací a její definicí, popisuje problémy v komunikaci u dětí s poruchami autistického spektra a metody alternativní a augmentativní komunikace. Výzkumné šetření je provedeno formou kvalitativního výzkumu. Cílem práce je pozorovat rozvoj komunikace u dětí s poruchou autistického spektra pomocí alternativní a augmentativní komunikace. Dalšími cíli je sledovat jaký je vliv alternativní a augmentativní komunikace na rozvoj oboustranné funkční komunikace a jaké formy alternativní a augmentativní komunikace užívají konkrétní děti s poruchou autistického spektra.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis describes the possibilities of communication development children on the autism spectrum disorder using alternative and augmentative communication. The theoretical part characterizes autism spectrum disorders, their history, etiology and classification of these disorders, deals with communication and its definition, describes communication problems children on the autism spectrum disorder and methods of alternative and augmentative communication. The research is carried out in the form of qualitative research. The aim of the thesis is to observe the development of communication children on the autism spectrum disorder using alternative and augmentative communication. Another objective are to monitor the impact of alternative and augmentative communication on the development of functional communication and what forms of alternative and augmentative communication are used by specific children on the autism spectrum disorder.
