Industry 4.0 and Supply Chain Management

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím konceptu Industry 4.0 v oblasti řízení dodavatelského řetězce (SCM). První část práce se zaměřuje zejména na představení pojmů a technologií, a to na teoretické úrovni. V úvodu první části jsou na základě studia literatury představeny koncept Industry 4.0, pojmy s ním související, historický vývoj a současný stav Industry 4.0 ve třech zvolených zemích. Dále je vymezen pojem SCM, je zdůvodněna relevance Industry 4.0 pro SCM a jsou představeny technologie využívané v moderním dodavatelském řetězci, které lze zároveň považovat za součást konceptu Industry 4.0. Druhá část práce je věnována aplikování poznatků z první části na případ zvolené společnosti. V úvodu druhé části je analyzován aktuální stav SCM ve zvolené společnosti, a to především na základě informací poskytnutých zástupci společnosti. V návaznosti na analýzu aktuálního stavu jsou identifikovány problémové oblasti SCM v dané společnosti. Na základě identifikace problémových oblastí SCM a poznatků uvedených v první části práce je navrženo řešení implementující moderní technologie a postupy do SCM zvolené společnosti. Jsou také uvedeny potenciální dopady řešení na společnost a je zhodnocena proveditelnost řešení.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the utilization of concept Industry 4.0 in Supply Chain Management (SCM). The first part of the thesis is aimed mainly at introducing and explaining terms and technologies on a theoretical level. The following terms are introduced and explained at the beginning of the first part: the concept Industry 4.0 and related concepts, historical development and contemporary status of Industry 4.0 in three selected countries. Furthermore, the concept of SCM is introduced and the relevance of Industry 4.0 to SCM is substantiated. Moreover, the thesis introduces technologies, which are used in a modern supply chain and can be concurrently considered a part of Industry 4.0. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to applying the knowledge acquired in the first part to the case of a selected company. The beginning of the second part is dedicated to an analysis of the current status of SCM in the selected company. The analysis is based on information provided by representatives of the company. Following up on the analysis, problematic areas of the company’s SCM are identified. Based on the identification of problematic areas and knowledge acquired in the first part, a solution is suggested. The solution implements modern technologies and procedures in the company’s SCM. Potential impacts of the suggested solution are stated, and the feasibility of the solution is evaluated.
