The importance of fishing pressure and the fisheries management system on the status of brown trout populations.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zpracování a následná analýza dat o úlovcích a vysazování v pstruhových revírech Moravského rybářského svazu. Hlavní zaměření bylo směřováno na pstruha obecného (Salmo truttta) a pstruha duhového (Oncorhynchus mykkis). Statistické podklady byly vypracovány ze všech 79 pstruhových revírů MRS z let 1991–2020. Podklady z 45 pstruhových revírů byly z dalších analýz vyřazeny z důvodu jejich nekompletnosti. Ze zbývajících revírů bylo vybráno 26, u kterých byly k dispozici kompletní časové řady a celkem se jednalo o 780 datových bodů. Ty byl nejprve sumarizovány pomocí mnohorozměrné analýzy hlavních komponent (PCA). Díky této analýze bylo možné redukovat dimenze dat a identifikovat trendy v datasetu. Následovala analýza k vizualizaci trendů a statistických vztahů. Pro zobrazení trendů a vztahů mezi proměnnými byla použita základní statistika, kde byla pro každý rok vypočítána minimální, maximální a mediánová hodnota proměnných. Výsledky analýz byly porovnány s ichtyologickým průzkumem, který proběhl v říjnu 2023 na deseti předem vybraných revírech MRS. Provedeným výzkumem bylo potvrzeno, že úlovky pstruha obecného v revírech MRS dlouhodobě klesající. Tento trend je nejlépe patrný v grafu časové řady úlovků pstruha obecného, kde je očividné, že medián počtu přisvojených pstruhů obecných má v sledovaných letech klesající tendenci. Jako nejvhodnější k vysazování se ukázaly kategorie Po2 a Po3-n, které v testu vykazovaly signifikantní korelaci s počty úlovků pstruha obecného. Distribuční diagram mnohorozměrné analýzy hlavních komponent (PCA) o asociaci mezi jednotlivými revíry během sledovaného období ukázal silnou pozitivní asociaci v majoritě analyzovaných revírů. Hlavním zjištěním bylo to, že plošné vysazování pstruha obecného nepřináší požadované výsledky ve vztahu k úlovkům sportovních rybářů.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was the processing and subsequent analysis of catch and stocking data in the trout fishing grounds of the Moravian fishing association. The main focus was on brown trout (Salmo trutta) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykkis). Statistical data were compiled from all 79 trout fishing grounds of the Moravian fishing association from 1991-2020. Data from 45 trout fishing grounds were excluded from further analyses due to their incompleteness. Of the remaining fishing grounds, 26 were selected for which complete time series were available, for a total of 780 data points. These were first summarized using multivariate principal component analysis (PCA). This analysis allowed the dimensions of the data to be reduced and trends in the dataset to be identified. This was followed by analysis aiming to visualize trends and statistical relationships. Basic statistics were used to visualize trends and relationships between variables, where the minimum, maximum and median values of variables were calculated for each year. The results of the analyses were compared with the ichthyological survey conducted in October 2023 at ten pre selected sites. The survey confirmed that catches of brown trout in studied trout fishing grounds have been declining in the long term. This trend can best be seen in the time series graph of brown trout catches, where it is evident that the median number of brown trout appropriated is trending downward over the years that were studied. In the test the Po2 and Po3-n categories proved to be the most suitable for stocking, showing a significant correlation with the numbers of brown trout caught. A multivariate principal component analysis (PCA) distribution plot of the association between the different fisheries during the study period showed a strong positive association in most of the fishing grounds that were analysed. The main finding was that areal stocking of brown trout does not produce the desired results in relation to sport fishers catches.
