Political correctness and self-censorship in perspective of information ethics

Abstract:

Tato práce s názvem Politická korektnost a autocenzura pohledem informační etiky se zabývá fenomény politické korektnosti a autocenzury ve vazbě na informační etiku. Autor se v první části práce na základě odborné literatury snaží teoreticky vymezit pojmy politické korektnosti, autocenzury a informační etiky, a pojmout jejich vzájemné vztahy. V druhé části práce autor popisuje výsledky výzkumu, jehož základem byla obsahová analýza publikovaných článků českých novinářů. Stěžejním tématem těchto článku byla politická korektnost. Obě východiska jsou následně zkoumána s akcentem na informační etiku a snahou vidět politickou korektnost v širší perspektivě.

Abstract:

This thesis titled Political correctness and self-censorship in perspective of information ethics is focused on phenomena of political correctness, self-censorship in connection with information ethics. First part of thesis is devoted to theoretical description and definition of political correctness and self-censorship as concepts, and encompasses their mutual relations. Other part contains results of research, based on content analysis of newspaper articles written by Czech journalists. Main theme of these articles is political correction. Examination of both parts follows with an emphasis on information ethics and with effort to see political correctness in higher perspective.
