Structure-functional studies of lectins from Aleuria aurantia family
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis deals with the structural and functional characterization of mutant lectin RSL, which with its six-bladed β-propeller structure belongs to Aleuria aurantia lectin family. Mutations G39R and A40W are focused toward intramonomeric binding site with aim to increase specificity towards core-fucosylated glycans, which might be marker of pathophysiology in humans. Bakalářská práce se zabývá strukturní a funkční charakterizací mutantu lektinu RSL, který svojí strukturou šestilopatkového β propelleru patří do rodiny Aleuria aurantia. Mutace G39R a A40W jsou cíleně zaměřeny na intramonomerní vazebné místo s potenciálním zvýšením specifity ke core fukosylovaným glykanům, které mohou indikovat patofyziologické děje v lidském organismu.
