The structure of financing higher education and the outputs of this system

Anotace:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je popsát typy financování vysokoškolského systému a určit vztah mezi strukturou financování a kvalitou vzdělání. V práci jsou popsany tři typy financování, jejich klady a zápory. Jsou stanoveny typ a struktura financování vysokého školství v zemích EU. Práce také se zabývá úrovní vzdělanosti všech evropských zemí a určuje význam terciárního vzdělání. Dále jsou prozkoumany trendy ve vývoji financování za posledních 10 let v zemích EU. Je provedena korelační analýza mezi indikátory kvality vzdělávání (počtem vědeckých publikací, procentem odpromovaných studentů a mírou zaměstnaností absolventů) a strukturou financování. V průběhu analýzy byla zjištěna pozitivní korelace a byl stanoven vliv financování na vědeckou činnost vysokých škol a procento absolvování. Korelace mezi mírou zaměstnanosti absolventů a způsobem financování se blížila nule.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to describe the types of funding of the higher education system and to determine the relationship between the funding structure and the quality of education. The thesis describes three types of financing, their pros and cons. The type and structure of higher education financing in EU countries are determined. The thesis also deals with the level of education of all European countries and determines the importance of tertiary education. Furthermore, trends in the development of financing over the last 10 years in EU countries are examined. A correlation analysis is carried out between indicators of the quality of education (the number of scientific publications, the percentage of students who graduate and the employment rate of graduates) and the funding structure. During the analysis, a positive correlation was found and the influence of funding on the scientific activity of universities and the graduation rate was determined. The correlation between graduate employment rates and funding method was close to zero.
