Abstract:

Práce se skládá ze dvou směrů výzkumu konečných uspořádaných pologrup. V obou případech byly motivací otázky o výsledcích týkajících se pologrup neuspořádaných. Nejprve se zabýváme problémem ireducibility pseudovariet pologrup. Ireducibilitu lze studovat pomocí různých nástrojů, my se zaměřujeme na Kovács-Newman (KN) pologrupy, generátory ireducibilních pseudovariet. Úplná charakterizace KN grup a pologrup byla poskytnuta Rhodesem a Steinbergem v roce 2009. Odpovídáme na přirozenou otázku, zda mohou být Kovács-Newman uspořádané pologrupy použity ke studiu ireducibility pseudovariet uspořádaných pologrup. Druhá linie výzkumu sleduje třídu pologrup, které vedou k určitému dobrému předuspořádání. Dobré předuspořádání generované homomorfismem z pologrupy všech slov na konečnou uspořádanou pologrupu bylo zavedeno Bucherem, Ehrenfeuchtem a Hausslerem v roce 1985. Přirozeně se objevilo v jejich studiu derivačních relací v souvislosti s bezkontextovými pravidly a položili si zásadní otázku, zda je výsledná relace dobrým předuspořádáním. Na tuto otázku odpovídáme v případě dobrého předuspořádání generovaného homomorfismem do uspořádané pologrupy. Ukazujeme, že odpověď nezávisí na homomorfismu, ale je vlastností jeho obrazu. Navíc poskytujeme algebraickou charakterizaci těch konečných uspořádaných pologrup, pro které získáváme dobré předuspořádání.

Abstract:

This thesis comprises of two lines of research concerning finite ordered semigroups. In both cases the motivating questions arise from results of the unordered case. Firstly, we deal with the problem of irreducibility of pseudovarieties of ordered semigroups. The irreducibility is studied using a variety of tools, however, we focus on the notion of Kovács-Newman (KN) semigroups, generators of irreducible pseudovarieties. A complete characterization of KN groups and semigroups was given by Rhodes and Steinberg in 2009. We answer a natural question, whether Kovács-Newman ordered semigroups can be used to study the irreducibility of pseudovarieties of ordered semigroups. The second line of research follows a class of semigroups giving rise to a certain well quasi-order. The notion of a quasi-order generated by a homomorphism from the semigroup of all words onto a finite ordered semigroup was introduced by Bucher, Ehrenfeucht, and Haussler in 1985. It naturally occurred in their studies of derivation relations associated with a given set of context-free rules, and they asked a crucial question, whether the resulting relation is a well quasi-order. We answer this question in the case of the quasi-order generated by an ordered semigroup homomorphism. We show that the answer does not depend on the homomorphism, but it is a~property of its image. Moreover, we give an algebraic characterization of those finite ordered semigroups for which we get well quasi-orders.
