Práca sa zaoberá úlohou Oscara Wilda ako provokatéra viktoriánskej spoločnosti. Ďalej sa venuje analýze Portrétu Doriana Graya a jeho trom hlavným postavám, ktoré odzrkadľujú jednotlivé protichodné aspekty Wildovej osobnosti.

The thesis deals with the role of Oscar Wilde as a provocateur of the Victorian establishment. It provides the historical background of the controversy connected to his persona as well as his motives for his provocative behaviour.
