Usability of fundamental analysis on Czech and USA stock markets

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá fundamentální analýzou a její využitelností na českém a americkém finančním trhu. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit do jaké míry je fundamentální analýza využitelná na českém a americkém akciovém trhu ve střednědobém investičním horizontu a zda se doporučení vytvořená na jejím základě shodují s reálným vývojem na trhu. V práci budou definovány proměnné, vztahy a souvislosti na jednotlivých úrovních fundamentální analýzy, tedy globální, odvětvové a firemní. V rámci poslední zmíněné úrovně bude popsána vnitřní hodnota akcie a různé metody jejího stanovení. Tyto znalosti budou posléze použity v praxi na třech českých a třech amerických akciových titulech. V závěru práce budou diskutovány vypočítané výsledky, které budou porovnány se skutečným vývojem vybraných akcií na finančních trzích.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with fundamental analysis and its usability on Czech and USA financial markets. The goal of diploma thesis is to determine the efficiency level of fundamental analysis on Czech and USA financial markets in the medium-term investment horizon and to find out if the recommendations made on its basis are in line with real market developments. In thesis there will be define variables, relationships and context at various levels of fundamental analysis, it means global, industry and company analysis. Within the last mentioned level, there will be described intrinsic value of share and various methods of its calculations. This knowledge will be later used in practice on three Czech and three American stocks. At the end of the thesis, results will be discussed and compared with actual development of selected stocks on stock markets.
