High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) neboli standard MPEG-H part 2/H.265 vychází z předchůdce MPEG-4 part 10/H.264. Ačkoliv je nový standard vyvíjen tak, aby byl účinnější, jeho implementace je postupná, a proto není zaručeno, že výsledný videosoubor bude dosahovat kvalit, které jsou v rámci standardu možné.
