Abstract:

Cílem této práce je srovnat zastoupení Americké angličtiny, Cockney, RP, Skotské angličtiny a jiných výslovností na BBC 2 Scotland v souvislosti s nárůstem stížností Britů na nedostatečné zastoupení regionálních akcentů a 'Londoncentrismus' v BBC.

Abstract:

In response to an increase in the British people’s complaints about the lack of diversity in regional accents that can be heard on BBC (the term “London-centric” has been widely used these days in this context) on one hand and “the English language in the British Isles becoming more Americanised” on the other, the prime objective of the thesis is to give the proportion of American English, Cockney and RP to Scottish English based on material acquired from BBC2 Scotland.
