Záměrem bakalářské práce je analýza nové metodologie rozšiřování EU vydané v roce 2020 a zaznamenání reakcí států západního Balkánu na tuto metodiku. Za inovativní prvek metodologie je považováno klíčové postavení základních zásad EU, mezivládní konference po vydání výročních zpráv, sloučení kapitol acquis do šesti tematických celků či propracovanější systém pobídek a sankcí.
