The Influence of Outsourcing on Hotel Operations on the Example of Houskeeping Sector

Abstract:

Abstrakt BELYANKOVA, Ekaterina. Vliv outsourcingu na provoz hotelu na příkladu ubytovacího úseku. [Diplomová práce] Vysoká škola hotelová. Praha : 2014. 91 stran. Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na outsourcing služeb úseku Housekeeping: úklid a obsluha pokojů a ostatních prostor v hotelu, služby pokojských. Cílem diplomové práce je zjištění výhod a nevýhod a efektivnosti outsourcingu služeb v úseku housekeepingu v hotelích v České republice, nových tendencí a hlavních důvodů rozhodnutí pro využití outsourcingu. Diplomová práce má tři části: teoretickou, analytickou a návrhovou část. V teoretické části práce jsou vymezeny teoretické předpoklady, metodologie, pojmový aparát pro uvedení do problematiky hotelového provozu a fenoménu outsourcingu. Je vymezena právní podstata využití outsourcingu a vlivu na politiku zaměstnanosti a mzdové náklady společnosti. Analytická část též obsahuje dotazníkovou analýzu několika hotelů, které outsourcing využívají, a je v ní posouzena vhodnost outsourcingu vzhledem k různým charakteristikám hotelových služeb: standardu poskytovaných služeb, kvalitě a klasifikace hotelu, velikosti hotelu apod. V návrhové části uvádíme vlastní návrhy, doporučení a kritické připomínky k praxi hotelů využívajících outsourcing hotelových služeb a návrhy pro zlepšení celkové situace a efektivnosti hotelového provozu. V práci jsou použity následující výzkumné metody: průzkum literárních zdrojů a vědeckých článků o tom, co je outsourcing a za jakých podmínek je výhodný pro společnost. Dále je provedeno porovnání různých hotelů a hotelových řetězců а analýza SWOT.

Abstract:

Abstract This thesis focuses on outsourcing in the segment Housekeeping: cleaning and maintenance of rooms and other areas in the hotel, maids’ services. The aim of the thesis is to determine the advantages and disadvantages and effectiveness of outsourcing services in housekeeping in hotels in the Czech Republic, new trends and the main reasons for the decision to use outsourcing. This thesis has three parts: theoretical, analytical and design part. In the theoretical part are defined theoretical assumptions, methodologies, and conceptual apparatus for introduction to the topic of hotel operations and outsourcing phenomenon. It is defined by the legal nature and impact of outsourcing on employment and labor expenses. The work includes a questionnaire analysis of several hotels that use outsourcing. The analytical part also contains a questionnaire analysis of several hotels that use outsourcing, and the appropriateness of outsourcing due to the different characteristics of services: standards of service, quality and classification of the hotel, size, etc. In the proposals we represent suggestions, recommendations and critical comments on outsourcing of the hotels and suggestions for improvement of the overall situation and the efficiency of hotel operations. In this work, the following research methods have been used: a survey of literature sources and scientific articles about what outsourcing is and under what conditions it is good for corporation. Furthermore, it contains the comparison of various hotels and hotel chains and а SWOT analysis.
